................................................................................................................................... Q: Can my vehicle be converted to lpg?A: Probably, Most makes & models can be converted without any drama’s. Contact us for further info. Q: Is it worthwhile converting my vehicle?A: Yes, providing you intend on doing enough klms to have the system pay itself off. At least 25,000klms Q: Is the price of gas going to go up?A: Yes. The fuel excise is going to be added to the price. You can find out more by visiting: www.lpgaustralia.com.au Q: How long does it take to convert my vehicle?A: Approximately 2 days. Q: Will it effect my warranty?A: Very possible. Speak to your manufacturer for more info. Q: Will it damage my engine?A: Very unlikely. We recommend to fit a flash lube (upper cylinder lube) to every petrol vehicle we convert. Q: Will I get the same klms out of my gas?A: No. The text book will tell you that you will use 20% more lpg than petrol. Savings come from significantly cheaper fuel. Q: Will I lose any power?A: Yes but very little/hardly noticeable. The text book will tell you that you’ll lose 10% in horsepower. Q: Where does the tank go?A: This varies from vehicle to vehicle. Rule of thumb.. Sedan = In boot, Ute = Under Tray, Van = Inside, 4wd = Under Rear Q: How many Litres of gas does that give me?A: This will depend on the tank dimensions. Contact us for more info.. Q: Why is it so expensive?A: The price of parts is nowhere near as cheap as they used to be years ago. We only use quality equipment. There is cheaper equipment available but you really do get what you pay for & this is something that will put you on the side of the road if it gives you trouble. Q: Do you have finance available?A: Yes (T.A.P) Q: What makes your system a good one?A: Petrol start – automatic change over to gas. (Keeps petrol system seals & o’rings lubricated & clean) Q: What’s the difference between the vapour injection system & the normal system?A: Vapour injection system is more precise in providing lpg where & when it’s needed. LPG is introduced via LPG injectors. Q: Do you recommend to fit an upper cylinder lube kit?A: Yes, We recommend to fit a flash lube (upper cylinder lube) to every petrol vehicle we convert. Your engine is going to wear out eventually. An upper cylinder lube kit will prolong the life of your engine even if you´re running on Petrol. At the end of the day too much lubrication is far better than not enough. Q: What does the flash lube (upper cylinder lube kit) do?A: Lubricant oil, vacuum operated. Lubricates the face of the valve, reducing the amount of wear in the valve & the head Q: Can I transfer the system to my next car?A: Possibly. Depends what the new vehicle is. Some components of the system are vehicle specific. Contact us for more info. Q: What happens if I run out of gas?A: If your vehicle has a vapour injection system fitted then it will change back to petrol for you otherwise simply switch vehicle back to petrol. Q: Where will the filler valve go?A: Varies from vehicle to vehicle. We always endeavour to mount the filler valve in the vehicle petrol hatch. (However not always possible) Q: What’s the difference between the gas in my car & the gas for my BBQ?A: BBQ gas is pure Propane. Autogas is generally a blend of Propane + additives Q: What happens if I over fill my vehicle?A: You cannot overfill lpg cylinder. AFL (Automatic Fill Limiter fitted inside cylinder) Bowser will shut off when cylinder is full. Q: What are the common problems a gas vehicle has?A: Backfire – Caused by ignition fault (ie: faulty spark plugs/ignition leads) or lean mixture (ie: vacuum leak / poor tuning) Q: Where can I fill up?A: Most servo’s. For more info visit: www.lpgaustralia.com.au Q: Will my vehicles insurance be affected?A: Very unlikely. For further info contact your insurance company. Q: Can Diesel vehicles be converted?A: Yes. Our ECONO-MAX diesel gas system is achieving great savings with improvements in fuel economy + significant performance increases Q: Will the conversion effect the value of my vehicle?A: Vehicles fitted with LPG generally achieve a higher resale value & are generally the first vehicles people inquire about. Q: What damage can be caused to my engine?A: Valve recession- Exhaust & Inlet valve recess into the head due to lack of lubrication (lpg is a dry gaseous fuel) + slightly higher operating temps & poor quality material (soft metal) used in making of engine head. Q: Will my engine run hotter on the temp gauge?A: No. Very doubtful. LPG does burn hotter but cooling system of vehicle should be more than able to handle this slight increase. Back to Top |
